Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Snackwise, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Health & nutrition disclaimer
Snackwise is not medical or nutritional advice.
Snackwise scores and summaries are informational and educational only. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other healthcare professional. Do not use Snackwise to diagnose, treat, or make medical or dietary decisions. If you have a health condition or specific dietary needs, talk to a professional.
3. Allergen warning
Do not rely on Snackwise for allergen safety.
Snackwise reads labels using AI and can make mistakes — including misreading or missing allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, shellfish, fish, and sesame. Always read the actual product packaging and contact the manufacturer if you have an allergy or intolerance. If you are at risk of a severe reaction, do not use Snackwise as your source of allergen information.
4. AI accuracy
Snackwise uses AI to interpret photos of product labels and generate ingredient analysis, scores, and summaries. Results are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the information produced by the app.
5. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for any activity that takes place under your account. Notify us right away at hello@snackwise.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use Snackwise only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to disrupt or reverse engineer it, scrape or resell its content, or use it to harass others or violate any law.
7. Your content
When you upload photos or other content to Snackwise for analysis, you keep ownership of that content. You grant Snackwise a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely to provide the service to you (for example, sending the photo to our AI provider to generate a result). Photos of product labels are not retained — see the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Subscriptions and billing
Snackwise Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies. Deleting the app does not, by itself, cancel your subscription.
9. Referral program
Snackwise may offer a referral program that rewards you (for example, with free Premium time or a discounted annual plan) when you invite friends who sign up. We may withhold, revoke, or reverse rewards if we detect abuse of the program. Self-referrals, same-device signups, and signups from the same IP address are automatically flagged and may be rejected. We may change or end the referral program at any time.
10. Third-party services
Snackwise relies on third-party services (including Clerk, RevenueCat, Anthropic, Apple, and Open Food Facts) to operate. Your use of the app is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.
11. Termination
You may stop using Snackwise at any time and delete your account from the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, abuse the service or referral program, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
Snackwise is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated results will be accurate.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Snackwise and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the app — including reliance on any score, summary, allergen reading, or other AI-generated output.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the 'Last updated' date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Snackwise after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
